How did you get into art / have you always been painting?
I studied montessori and art therapy. I had a small school and ran children and adult art classes for many years. I also went to university to study fine arts in my late 50s.
What medium/media do you use?
I use oil, acrylic, charcoal, watercolour paint and ink.
What are your favourite subjects?
My favourite subjects and themes are nature, sea, portraits and painting my raw emotions into objects, places and people.
Where do you get your inspiration?
I get it from places, my gut feelings and being inspired from beautiful and disturbing artwork. I am currently volunteering at the National Gallery in Dublin so getting inspiration from there.
Is there anything in particular you like to communicate through your art ?
I like to communicate looseness, fluidity, freedom, shadows and imagination.
When and why did you join the Greystones Art Group?
I joined about 40 years ago, because their exhibitions inspired me.
