Kick starting the monthly events after a very long break, Róisín Curé, Ireland’s best know Urban Sketcher, joined us on Monday January 30th, 2023 in the Kilcoole Community Centre.

Róisín shared her experiences as to how she became involved in urban sketching after receiving a copy of Everyday Matters (Danny Gregory) on her 44th birthday, which changed her life. Róisín is from Galway and this new found interest led her into a whirlwind of colour and line and brought her to all corners of the world. Her beautiful sketch books journal daily life from beach settings in exotic locations to the local vernacular in Galway.

Róisín explained how urban sketching is very accessible to any of us, with a minimum of materials required. We were treated to a comprehensive and fun exercise to draw and paint along with lots of useful tips shared during the process. A very enjoyable evening which hopefully will be repeated sometime in the future.
